Accent color- Colors used for emphasis in a color scheme.
Achromatic color- Colors that lack hues such as white, grey, and black. Additive color- A method to create color by mixing a number of different light colors. Analogous color- A group of three colors next to each other on the color wheel. Bezold effect- An optical illusion where a color looks different depending on its relation to adjacent colors. Chroma- The quality of purity, saturation, and intensity in a color. Color harmony- Combining two colors that are harmonious to the eye. Color interaction- Two colors side by side interact with one another and change our perception accordingly. Color key- Sets of colors made in background painting that are used by lighting, materials, and production team for animation features, television series, and animated shorts. Color overtone- The secondary hue of a primary color. Color theory- Color mixing and the visual effect of a specific color combination. Complementary Color- Colors directly across each other on the color wheel. Composition- The placement or arrangement of visual pieces. Hue- A color or a shad thats true. (Green, Orange, Yellow, and Blue) Intensity- The amount of purity in the hue itself. Monochromatic- Containing or using only one color. Opponent theory- Two colors that can not mix. (Black and White, Red and Green, and Yellow and Blue) When put together no new color is made you see one of the original colors instead. Primary colors- The three color you can make any color with. (Blue, Yellow, and Red) Saturation- The intensity of a color in an image. Secondary color- Colors created by mixing two primary colors. Shade- Different variations of the same color depending of how light or dark they are. Simultaneous contrast- The way in which two different colors effect each other. Split complementary Color- A variation of the complementary color scheme. Subtractive color- Mixing of a limited amount of dyes, inks, and paints to create a wider range of colors. Temperature-Characterization of the spectral properties of a light source. Tertiary colors- Combinations of primary and secondary colors. Tint- Mixing a color with white making it lighter. Tone- Light and dark values used to render a realistic object. Value- The relative lightness or darkness of a color. |
